What Will the End Be Like?
Like a thief in the night, some say.
Or it could just be a huge boom that shatters your eardrums and makes you wet your pants before disintegrating every bone in your body, leaving you a jelly-like puddle of organs and unsupported flesh, with just enough life left in you to allow your eyes to see the burning rubble and twisted remains of everything that you have ever held dear.
Or maybe somewhere in between; I don’t know.
The biggest danger is that people like that have arrived at their conclusions through some sort of objection-destroying mechanism. Common sense has been shredded, critical thought has been eviscerated…you start by entertaining one or two silly ideas, and then more, and finally you have nothing but shadows of thoughts — intangible, irresponsible, with no recourse to logic or reason.
Plus, those sorts of people may have no more feeling left for their fellow human beings than a sort of predatory virus…find, attach, replicate, spread…
If I were one of those people, this is the part where I’d tell you what to do (i.e., organize, get the word out, equip yourself, train, prepare…). Unfortunately, there’s nothing much that you can do. You’re in the minority; everybody else kinda prefers not to rise above sloppy thinking about their world and life, and desire-motivated impulse consumerism. It’s going to suck for as long as you live, so I guess thinking about the end of the world is as happy as you’re going to get.
